Crate Chairs

My take on the classic Rietveld Crate Chair.
The simple design in combination with the sturdy, yet affordable industrial pine, made for perfect outdoor furniture. Situated right by the water, these chairs needed to be able to withstand quite extreme weather conditions. The treated wood is perfect for the direct sunlight and the very wet conditions they will face. The chairs have some weight to them, which keeps them from blowing away in the infamous South Easter that frequents the coastline.
I was very happy with the building process of these chairs. I run a one man operation and the fact that these chairs could be built in sections helped my production process immensely. The sections stacked into each other very neatly and made it very easy to transport in the boot of my car.
The side table was designed to mimic the chairs. I feel the fit well together and make for a comfortable and effective seating solution.
